We’ve noticed recently that a lot of parents assume that once toddlers have grown out of their ‘birth to potty’ nappies at around 35lbs/16kg, that that’s it. Well, that’s not true – there are a variety of nappies out there designed for older, larger toddlers. They tend to fit up to around 45lbs/20kg and offer the additional absorbency required for a child of this age.
One of the most easiest options is the Motherease Duo XL. These are really absorbent and give excellent containment. Just popper the insert into the wrap (bought separately) and use it like an all-in-one. For night-time use, the bamboo and night-time inserts provide the best absorbency. You’ll also find that these act really well as ‘pull-ups’ allowing your child to take them off themselves if they able to get to the toilet in the night.
Two-part nappies also give excellent absorbency. Choose from:
· Motherease Sandy XL 'Toddlease' (16-20kg) used with a Motherease Airflow wrap XL (16-20kg)
· Little Lamb bamboo shaped nappies size 3 (16-20kg) used with a Little Lamb wrap size or Motherease Airflow wrap XL (16-20kg)
EasypeasyXL ‘Bumper’ (13-22kg) used with a Motherease Airflow wrap XL (16-20kg)
The final option is ‘bedtime’ pants. These are generally all-in-one style nappies where the absorbency and the waterproofing is all sewn in together. They are very absorbent (more absorbent than the nappies mentioned above) but, in order to achieve this, they are quite bulky. They also take quite a while to dry.
· Motherease Bedwetter Pant – these come in 3 sizes:
XS – 14-18kg
Small – 18-25kg
Medium – 25-29kg
· Upsey Daisy Bedtime Pants – these come in a wider range of size options right up to age 11-12.
