For centuries, rhassoul clay has been used in the ancient world as a prized beauty ingredient. People from ancient Egypt, North Africa, Rome, Greece and Turkey have all gained from the numerous beauty benefits of rhassoul clay for hair and skin

Rhassoul clay is a natural clay mined in the Atlas Mountains of North Africa. It has been mined since the 8th century and is super rich in many minerals including silica, iron, magnesium, potassium, sodium, lithium and trace elements.

KEY INGREDIENTS:

RHASSOUL MUD - We decided to create a rhassoul mud shampoo because of it's sustainability and it's ethics. But check out the hair and beauty benefits: It helps exfoliate dead skin as well as balance sebum secretion on the skin which helps fight off dandruff. The saponin content in rhassoul clay makes it a good shampoo alternative. Saponins are natural cleansing agents found in certain plant material that forms a sort of lather when mixed with water. Rhassoul clay is cleansing and makes hair soft, silky, shiny and manageable! When you use it as a hair mask, it acts as a natural conditioner to provide the extra silkiness your hair deserves!

ROSEMARY - Rosemary has been used for centuries to not only stimulate hair growth but also delay graying. Listed below are the different ways in which the herb promotes healthy hair growth. Rosemary oil can counter hair loss by stimulating blood circulation in the scalp, which, in turn, promotes hair growth. Its high nutritional value and anti-inflammatory properties make it an excellent ingredient for nourishing the hair follicles and soothing the scalp. It also has analgesic properties that make it a good remedy for soothing inflamed scalps. It is known to thicken hair and add shine, and is often used by people who have thin, lusterless hair.

  • GREAT FOR: Cleansing & Volumising. Suitable for all hair/skin types, especially hair/skin prone to dryness, itchiness or just in need of a deep cleanse. Great for hair that needs a bit of lift.

INGREDIENTS: Organic cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, organic olea europaea (olive) oil, organic prunus dulcis (almond) oil, organic butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, organic prunus armeniaca (apricot kernel) oil, sodium hydroxide*, organic sapindus mukurossi (soapnut) extract, organic cocos nucifera (coconut) extract, moroccan lava clay (rhassoul), rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil,
rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil, thuja orientalis (cedarwood) leaf oil, cupressus sempervirens (cypress) oil, linalool**, limonene**, geraniol**.

*After the saponification process no sodium hydroxide remains. **Occurs naturally in essential oils.

HOW TO USE:

  • Comb out dry hair before shampooing. Do not miss this step, especially if you use styling products.

  • Wet bar and lather in hands, apply lather to hair. Or alternatively rub bar directly onto hair and lather well (this works well for me - mid/long length hair).*

*When using the bars, one thing that is very important is to lather the soap up really well, and to use lots of lather when washing your hair. The most common spot, especially for people with long hair, is at the back of the head. You need to work the shampoo into your hair with water and lather up so that the dirt and extra oils not needed by your hair can be washed away.

If you are used to using normal commercial shampoo and shampoo twice, you will notice that the second wash produces a lot more lather. The first wash is mixing with the dirt and excess oil in your hair so the second wash is working on cleaner hair. The same is true for our shampoo bars. So lather up, once or twice. But please make sure to rinse every single time! And then make sure to use an apple cider vinegar hair rinse!

  • Massage lather into roots and through lengths of hair. Rinse out thoroughly.

Prolong the life of your soap by not leaving soap in a soggy soap dish, or in an area where water is constantly flowing. Allow the bar to dry in between uses.
